Overview
The Little Known Front, written by Eric Urbain and translated by Lane Barton, covers the events that occurred from December 21, 1944, to January 14, 1945, during the Battle of the Bulge, specifically in the area west of Bastogne. Published in Belgium in 2002 and privately printed in the U.S. in 2004, the book focuses primarily on the experiences of men in the 87th Infantry, 11th Armored, and 17th Airborne Divisions. It also highlights the role of the 761st Tank Battalion, from the time it joined the 345th Infantry on December 31st until the action around Tillet on January 9th.
The book is an 8 1/2" by 11" softbound volume with over 300 pages, including 150 photographs and maps, and a personal name index. A new printing is expected in mid-February 2006 after a period of being temporarily out-of-print.
